Golden Clipboard
At St Antony's, we strive to create a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience for our pupils. Through our Golden Rules, which aim to instil good manners and promote positive social interaction, we deliberately allow the children to choose where they sit in the dinner hall. This inclusivity means that siblings can enjoy their lunch together, or an older pupil can sit with a younger pupil, fostering a supportive and family-like environment that is a hallmark of our school ethos.
Golden Clipboard Trip Easter 2024
In 2022, we introduced a special reward for children who consistently demonstrated our Golden Rules during lunchtime by introducing a Golden Clipboard. Children who are spotted promoting the Golden Lunchtime Rules will be added to the Golden Clipboard. These exemplary pupils have the opportunity to experience the Golden Clipboard Treat at “a very fancy restaurant, The Dunkenhalgh Hotel, known for its exceptional dining experience.
During this treat, our pupils are treated to a three-course meal that not only satisfies their taste buds but also provides them with an opportunity to practice their impeccable table manners. Engaging in social conversations around the table is highly encouraged, as it helps further develop their communication and social skills.
The Golden Clipboard experience occurs on a termly basis; the names from the clipboard are put into a hat and 8 are chosen at random. The children are encouraged to wear their fancy clothes, adding an element of excitement and importance to the occasion.

The children love their visits to the "fancy restaurant"....
"I had a great time at the fancy restaurant ... the food was delicious and we got starters and deserts too." (Year 3 pupil)
"I was so happy that my name was chosen. I always use my manners in the dinner hall and use my restaurant voice. The restaurant was amazing!" (Year 4 pupil)
"I have had my name on the Golden Clipboard lots of time and finally I was chosen. We were able to have 3 courses and sit on a big round table. There were lots of cutlery and I was told to start on the outside and work in. I hope my name gets picked out again." (Year 5 pupil)
